Colinton tunnel -- Edinburgh

Is anyone who's been willing to share their experiences?

Yes, I'm wondering if it's worth going to visit and if there's anything else nearby. The photos I've seen look really neat.

There is a small area known as Colinton Village nearby, but some shops and services are gone from there now.
There are a couple of pubs and shops.

It has a very old churchyard at Colinton Parish Church that's worth a look, and Spylaw Park nearby the tunnel is pretty , with an old house, Spylaw House, in the middle.

My dear friend lived near there for years , and another friend had a flat in the old house for a while.

If you just want a different residential view of Edinburgh, it's quite pretty around there on a nice day.

Just get a city bus there and back, sit on the top level at the front so you can look at people's gardens from above!
Number 45, 10 or 16.
Takes about 30-40 mins from the centre of Edinburgh.
