Old Course booking partner needed in St Andrews April 4th - 6th

Hi
My wife and I will be in St Andrews April 4th through 6th, 2024. I love golf she loves it when I'm out golfing. Win win.
We are going there so I can try to play the Old Course at St Andrews.
I am looking for fellow golfers that would to join me in the ballot system and try to acquire a tee time to play any of these three days.
There are some stipulations.
You must present proof you have a handicap of 36 or below. ( You have to show them your GHIN card) I'm a 13.
We have to enter the ballot 48 hours before you want to play. So to play on Thursday the 4th we need to get in the ballot lottery on 2nd.
From the research I have done, there may be a 25% chance of getting on this way.
I really want to play and will rain or shine and I ask that from you if you want to try to do this.

St Andrews will only allow you to enter the ballot lottery with a twosome or foursome. Singles must go to the course early in the morning they want to play and hope they can get a tee time. Some golfers leave the pub the night before and sit outside the starter shed all night. That is what I will be doing if the ballot thing doesn't work out.
The cost is also high, $300 for green fees. You can rent clubs there, which is what I am going to do.

A little about me
I am a recently retired 64 year old 13 handicap . Im an avid golfer that tries to get in one round whenever we vacation.
This is a bucket list thing fo me. If it is for too let me know.

Hi, my husband and son are golfers and would love to golf St. Andrews if possible. If you happen to find one more person, they would be interested in joining you. It would only work for us on the 4th, though, as we have other commitments already made for the remainder of the week.

This is great information, thank you for sharing. We are avid golfers and St Andrews is on our list but didn't really know how to approach getting on the links.

BTW: $300 is cheap compared to Pebble Beach area. Hope you get on and have a great round! Maybe there will be no shows and you can get on a waitlist? (I learned this tactic from a starter at a popular golf destination-- people miss their tee time due to a multitude of reasons)

Hi
I'm not sure if this is allowed. Pushing your topic back up to the top.
I have April 4th covered but I'm still looking for potential ballot partners for April 5th or 6th.
Any takers?
I'm just trying to cover every day I'm there to increase my odds and hopefully not have to wait in the morning queue.
Thanks
Mark

Hi my son is interested. We will be there during the same time and he was trying to find a way in. He golfs weekly, and has a handicap of 29 (currently), This is a bucket list thing for him as well. let me know if you want his contact info. Green fees are not a problem as well. Hopefully it works out.

Hi,
I just found out that St Andrews is getting rid of the single queue after March 14, 2024. No more sitting in line all night.
After the 14th singles have to sign up between 9 am and 5 pm the day before at the course and get their picture taken.
Then they pull the next days openings and give the winners the option to play the night before the rest go on the wait list.
I was dreading getting up early.
Hip hip hooray
