I’m considering a solo 7-10 day trip to Scotland. Would October be a good month?
I think we need more information to really answer your question. Are you concerned about weather? Prices? Will key sites be open? How many hours of daylight? Crowds?
What are you most interested knowing about?
Not traveled in Scotland in in October. I would think that it would be quite nice though. Fewer tourists, but not too dark yet.
Halloween in Edinburgh is on my bucket list....
October will be quieter with fewer visitors around. Most tourist places will stillI be open - but check the websites of any on your must see list. If you visit before the clocks go back, you will get reasonable hours of daylight. You should get the end of the autumn colours.
The weeks commencing 17 and 24 October are half term school holidays, so I would avoid those weeks. The weather is likely to be better earlier in the month too, but that’s not guaranteed.
