Observatories

I will be in Glasgow in early-to-mid October and would like to do some stargazing. Does anyone have 1st hand knowledge of what observatories are available to view the stars and where the best location is to find clear skies?

Thank you

Bill

Clear skies is a lottery .
The Galloway Forrest ( SW Scotland) is a noted dark skies area.
Not Scotland, but Kielder Observatory do a series of lectures and a mean hot chocolate too.

Might be worth getting an aurora App as they occur reasonably often in Scotland.
I saw them last September
in the middle of the month
I have the Glendale app but Lancaster University also has a good aurora site too.
