Hi,
I will be staying in Glasgow until May 30. I’d like to go to Oban from Glasgow on May 30 and visit Mull and Iona. I’d like to figure out how to get from Oban to Portree and then schedule a three day tour on the isle of Skye. Any suggestions on how to get from Oban to Portree without a car and a recommendation for a tour on Skye for three days? Then I need to make my way to Inverness to start the Rick Steves tour on June 5th.

You could also get train from Oban to Tyndrum (Lower) and then connect to citylink.

You need to catch the 918 bus from Oban to Fort William

At Fort William, pick up the 915 bus which has come from Glasgow and will take you to Portree.

You will need to check times nearer the date.
Can I also take the West Highland train from Oban to Mallaig and catch ferry? Then find a bus to Portree?
I think you'd have to take a bus from Armadale (Skye) to Broadford and change to another bus to get from Broadford to Portree. You can explore the options on Rome2Rio.com. Don't trust what it says about fares, travel times or frequencies. Keep clicking down through the website until you find links to the bus companies you're interested in.
I think you'll find there's only infrequent service between Broadford and points south.
You do like to make things complicated! The 52 bus goes between Armadale and Broadford.

Thanks for all replies!!! I’m also considering a short tour or two since I’m traveling solo and won’t drive. And of course I really want to ride the Jacobite steam train just for kicks. 😉
