Oban restaurants with late hours near the ferry dock

Hello,
My family will be taking a Turus Mara tour to the Treshnish Isles and Staffa from Oban on a Sunday in May 2026. It's a long day, and we are expected to return at 8:15PM. We want to be able to grab dinner on our return, but most of the restaurants near the dock stop serving at 9PM. Does anyone know of a spot that serves dinner a bit later, in the event that our return is later than expected? I'm hoping to have a cushion just in case.

Thank you all very much for your help.

Hi, Genifer,

If all else fails, Norie's at 86 George Street, does a really good fish supper. They also have meat pie suppers, haggis, white pudding, pizza, etc. They are open late every day, and will probably have later hours in May (even on Sunday!).

Although they are primarily a "carry-oot", they do have several tables and booths for eating inside.

Bon appetit!

It's hardly the best answer but a fall back is that the Wetherspoons pub, the Corryvreckan should be doing food late.
Another answer is that Turus Mara put you on the Calmac ferry back from Mull to Oban. They don't serve Oban direct.
If that ferry is the big one (not the little Loch Frisa) it has a cafeteria on board which does full meal service during the 50 minute crossing.
That timetable should be in the Phase 1 release so we should know by 10 December which ferry is running the 1925 from Craignure, if indeed it is 1925 and not rescheduled.
If the timetable is in Phase 2 it is released on 20 January.
Either way that is when Turus Mara will confirm the days timings to you.
Likewise in the morning you go over on Calmac, so if it's the big ship you will be able to get the full Scottish breakfast on board.

When it comes to Fish and Chip Shops in Oban I've always used the George Street Fish and Chip Shop (and been very happy with them- open to 2300 seven days a week), because it's just behind the West Coast Motors travel shop and my usual hotel, but I'm sure there's nothing wrong with either Norie's or the Oban Fish and Chip Shop.
Very much a personal thing.
The Oban Fish and Chip Shop is apparently Rick Stein approved- he is a Cornish fish chef. I'm not sure his approval means anything to me as his takeaway shop in Padstow (Cornwall) is known for it's high pricing and gets quite a few very 'meh' or worse reviews. It's a great shame because I think a lot of him as a fish chef, but like many seems to have over expanded his restaurant empire.
Even George Street is Oban and Scottish pricing- quite a bit more than I am used to paying in England, but it is what it is.
