New Weekend Bus Service from Fort William to Glenfinnan

Starting from tomorrow (19 July), and running until 7 September, Shiel Buses will run a new bus service on Saturday and Sunday, route 9 3/4 to view the viaduct, steam train and memorial.

From Fort William Bus Station Stance 1 at 0900, 1100, 1400 and 1600
From Glenfinnan Station at 0950, 1150, 1450 and 1710

This is funded by Highland Council to try to relieve pressure on the parking

Hi, Stuart,

For the benefit of travellers who would take this bus specifically to see the Jacobite (or its diesel substitute) as it traverses the viaduct, which departure(s) from Fort William would allow them to do so?

Thanks!

The 9am for the morning Mallaig bound at 1120. (arrives Glenfinnan Station 1055)
The 11am for the afternoon Mallaig bound at 1355 (arrives Glenfinnan Station 1330).
On a Saturday this bus connects with the Caledonian sleeper from London.

The 2pm for the first Fort William bound at 1515
The 4pm for the second Fort William bound at 1805, then use the 1903 service train back to Fort William both days.

An Additional Q coded steam train is timetabled to Arising (not Mallaig) at 1825, returning at 2040.
It is for charter bookings only, but very rarely runs.
