New direct bus service from Edinburgh to Fort William via Glencoe

Ember Bus (the all electric vehicles bus company) are to start an Edinburgh to Fort William direct bus route from 16 April 2025 with stops in Grangemouth, Dunblane, Lochearnhead, Tyndrum and Glencoe Mountain (more stops to be added in due course).

From Edinburgh the timings are-
04:28 arrive 07:49
10:19 - 14:08
14:24 - 18:16
20:12 - 23:34

The early bus will connect with the first service train to Mallaig then ferry to Skye, or the Jacobite service train

and from Fort William the timings are-
06:05 arrive 09:49
10:05 - 13:54
16:04 - 19:42
20:08 - 23:31 (again connecting out of service and steam trains)

So a long day trip to Glencoe from Edinburgh is now possible. (Glencoe is 50 minutes before/after Fort William)

Thanks for this tip. It arrived just in time as my family and I were recently discussing whether to rent a car or take public transit on our travels in this region. It sounds like we could get around relatively easy on public transit from city to city, but we'd like to walk/hike around Glencoe and it seems like getting to some of the trailheads might not be easily done without a car. I'd appreciate your thoughts if you happen to know about this.
