My thanks to Mike, Pam, and epltd for your great input about Glencoe to Stirling

Hi Mike, Pam, and epltd,
I want to thank you for your great input and suggestions to my posted question about driving from Portree to Glencoe to Stirling and to let you know how much I truly appreciate it! Last night, I posted a response to my original topic, saying how wonderfully helpful your input was. However, when I realized that I had misspelled Glencoe in my topic heading, I went to edit the heading to correct it. And in changing the topic heading, that apparently altered the URL address, and has made the entire topic disappear from the Scotland forum. ()

So, thank you again for all of your suggestions! They solidified my feeling to take a slower pace and split up that stretch instead of trying to do it in one day. That will help me have more patience at all the beautiful spots to take pictures and time to wait for the other tourists to move out of the way. :-)

Thanks again!

Hi, Lee,

Ditto from me. Glad you decided to take more time to enjoy your drive east from Portree. Scotland is too beautiful a place to hurry through. I think that Pam may have already mentioned this, but as you're driving on the A87 toward Invergarry, there is a scenic overlook/layby on the Loch Garry side of the road. If you look at the loch from the right angle, the loch looks just like a topographic map of Scotland.

Enjoy Glencoe! The Glencoe Cafe appears to the best of many places for lunch in the Ballachulish/Glencoe areas. It's on The Carnoch, not too far from the Police Station and the Mountain Rescue HQ.

Best wishes!

Glad to help. You'll enjoy the trip and be less stressed. And that's how it should be on Holiday. :)
