Hello, we are travelling to from Australia to Shetlands, Orkneys, Outer Hebrides and through the Highlands and I would like to know if there is a preferred network that has coverage in all these areas. I have read some reports stating one network works in some areas but not others. Thanks for any advice.
EE tends to be best in rural areas. That’s certainly the case in Skye, the Outer Hebs and Shetland.
EE, as mention above is good option, although I notice that it has not be that great since 5G. I have greaet coverage from Lebara, even in far remote areas of the west highlands.
I had wonderful cell phone coverage throughout Scotland in 2023 and never once lacked service (even when I was out on the water). One of the members here from Scotland said that Scotland really improved coverage was a few years back. I don't think you will have any problems.
EE is one of the brands of BT, along with BT and PlusNet.
Being part of the BT family they have pretty good coverage across the country. I'm with BT and it has been ages since I've been somewhere where the coverage is suboptimal.
