Hello, Fellow Travellers,

Jacqui (Skyegirl) and I have made note of the beauty of the Uists. Here's a recent article from the travel section of the Washington Post:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/travel/exploring-the-rich-grasslands-meadows-and-wildflowers-of-scotlands-western-isles/2019/10/17/3fa06d0a-ef5f-11e9-89eb-ec56cd414732_story.html

I have to say from personal experience that it's just as beautiful as it looks in the photographs; actually, even more so. The RSPB Balranald is a must visit if you're going there.

Slainte!

Ah, Mike, the Uists and Balranald...a lovely article to start the day and rekindle memories of my time there. Thank you for posting!

Sounds like the "Scotland" everyone hopes for still exists. Glad it takes some efforts to go there; so that it won't be over run by day trippers soon. I live on an Island in the Salish Sea and we now have many climate refugees from California. We should all guard our fragile ecosystems with good practices while we still can.
