We are going to Shetland in August of 2023 and are looking for a private guide. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Not certain as to your interests, but I was in Shetland last September and had a wonderful private tour with David Malcom of Discover Shetland. David is a retired GP who has lived in Shetland for over 40 years and provides small (max 4 persons) private tours. He enjoys sharing stories about the ancient as well as current history, wildlife, birds, and all things Shetland. No matter where we were, a local resident knew David! He is very flexible in his guiding style and will work with your preferences and schedule. My only regret is that we did not stay longer in Shetland!

You many want to subscribe to the Visit Shetland's newsletter and browse through the Shetland Islands Tourist Guides Association. I found both very helpful in planning my trip to Scotland last year.
