My husband and I and our adult daughter are traveling to Scotland in October and will spend two nights in Oban. Hard to find accommodations for 3. Any suggestions?
I assume you are wanting to be in the same room. If so, depending on the dates- try the Royal Hotel- they have family rooms on many dates that month. The location is as central in Oban as it gets, opposite the train station/bus stops and steps away from the ferry terminal.
Restaurants, distillery, Skippinish Ceilidh house and the main food store all a few minutes walk away.

Many of the hotels and guest houses in Oban are out on the Corran promenade, which is a fair stride from the ferry.
When I can get in there the Royal is my hotel of choice in Oban.
Thanks, isn31c, for your help!! Unfortunately, they’re booked for one of the dates we’ll be there. ☹️ I appreciate your suggestion.
You may need to consider getting two rooms.
The Royal Hotel would have been my suggestion as well.
Hope I don’t have to do that. Will keep hunting.
Hi, robynwhelan,
If you are just planning to all stay in one room, the Premier Inn has rooms with a double bed (similar to a U.S. queen), plus a sofa bed. The sofa bed is not the most comfortable, but it will do in a pinch. Request a "family room".
The Premier Inn is a very short walk from the ferry terminal, the library, and central Oban. Based on our recent experience, the rooms are roomy and comfortable. Free parking in the back, or free street parking until 8:30 a.m. There is also a reasonably priced on-site restaurant.
If you have the time while in Oban, a visit to the nearby island of Lismore would be a good way to spend a few hours.
Best wishes,
Mike (Auchterless)
Hi, Mike - Thanks so much for your suggestion. Will check it out. 😊

Check Booking.com. We are also traveling with our adult daughter (in May) and found Oban listings for family rooms and one bedroom apartments that share one bathroom. I think we can manage for two nights!
Thanks, Dan for your reply. I did wind up looking on Booking.com. We were able to find and book a listing with them with Argyll Apartments. They’re located in the center of Oban. The reviews are really good. It’s an apartment with two bedrooms and sharing a single bath. There’s also a full kitchen. This may be the same listing that you found available in May. It looks like it’s going to be a good fit. 😊😊
