Wow.Thanks for the info. Me and my friend will be sharing room. So we need twin beds. Trying to keep it around $400 American dollars for two nights.

Hi teani, for some reason, I was reading Portree, instead of Edinburgh. So I apologize and deleted my first post since it's not relevant at all.
Anyway, here are a few suggestions. I stayed at the Premier Inn York Place, which is a very clean and comfortable hotel located in New Town, a lovely and quieter location than the Royal Mile, but still within easy walking distance. Rooms there have both double beds and two twins, so you should request which ones you prefer. You should be able to get a room there for less than $200 a night. Breakfast is available for a decent price.
Another possible hotel with good reviews is the Hotel Ibis on St. Andrew's Square, which is very nice and has been recommended by others there.

I have stayed here https://edinburgh-guesthouse.com/ on 5 different occaisions. Excellent accomodations, friendly hosts, delicious breakfast and spotlessly clean. On a quiet street short bus ride to Royal Mile. Enjoy your visit.
