Long-term Parking, Aboyne/Ballater

Appreciate everyone's help and advice, these forums are lovely!

My sister and I are traveling through Scotland in April for roughly a week, and ending our trip with a 4-day equine trek through the Highlands. We'll have a rented car to get around and that is where my question comes in.

The equine trek group has suggested to stay in either Aboyne or Ballater the night prior to our trek and they can pick us up from either of those areas. The issue I'm running into is finding a place to leave our rental car for the time we are gone. There appear to be some car parks available, but I'm not sure if they are long-term? I've reached out to several of the hotels that we are considering staying at to see if they would offer long-term parking after we've checked out, but have yet to hear back.

Any suggestions on where to park our rental car for 3-4 nights? I don't mind paying for parking, but don't want to get into trouble for staying somewhere I'm not supposed to.

Thanks!

It would be helpful to know where you are coming from before you get to Aboyne or Ballater. And if you are ending your trip with the equine trek, are you heading back home after that?

The reason I'm asking is that if it were me, I would try and return the car in before you head to one of those two places, and take a bus there. You could easily get one from Aberdeen to either of the towns. Then have the group pick you up, go on your trek and then get public transportation to your final destination before flying out.

If that doesn't work for you, have you tried calling the trek group and asking them what they suggest?

ETA: Well, after I posted that, I came across this thread on Reddit that gives some information on parking in Ballater for a few days.
