Hi, am headed to Scotland in June. Please advise how much time should I allow between flights, after arriving in London, to take the next plane to Inverness. 2 hours enough? 4 hours? I know going though customs can take awhile, at least it did the last time I went to London... Appreciate any advice, thank you! Karen
Are you on one through ticket, or two separate tickets.
Do you know which terminal at (presumably) Heathrow you arrive at ie- do you have to change terminals
One through ticket. Yes, arriving in Heathrow... Would assume some terminal change, but NOT airport change.
I don’t know when you last flew into Heathrow, but immigration now has e-gates and U.S. citizens can use the e-gates. You just scan your passport, look at the camera, and walk through the gate. The last few times that I have flown through London, it has never taken more than 10 minutes to get through immigration.
If you are buying a single ticket through the airline, 2 hours would be fine.
Be aware that if you are connecting at Heathrow from an international flight to a domestic flight, you will go through a separate immigration area that takes no time. They also have egates. Just make sure you follow the purple Flight Connections signs rather than following the crowd to the main immigration area.
Plug your flight into this website and it will give you step by step instructions

What airline are you flying into Heathrow? BA flies between Heathrow and Inverness at Terminal 5.
Sorry, I can't provide any advice but we are doing the same thing in May! We arrive in Terminal 5 and the Inverness flight leaves from Terminal 5 so I have assumed that the 1 hour, twenty minute layover will be enough? Flying BA. I love this forum!
Thanks for all the replies, very helpful, I appreciate all of you! Karen
