Lodging suggestions in Glasgow and Edinburg

We will be traveling in late-May early-June and would appreciate recommendations for lodging in Glasgow and Edinburg. We will not have a car so a B&B or interesting hotel with access to public transit would be a great help.

Thanks in advance for any help!

have a look at this website, lots of choices there.
In Edinburgh can I suggest the street Minto Street , Mayfield Garden ,Craigmiller Park, all one long road with numerous small hotels , guest house and B&B's. Furthest point is about 2 miles form the Royal Mile and there are numerous buses day and night that will get you there in 10 minutes or so

Can you suggest something with good access to transit? We will need to access public transit between Glasgow and Edinburg and from Glasgow to the airport.

Thanks for any help

I stayed at the Premier Inn George Square and it is very convenient to the train station to Edinburgh and to the bus to the Glasgow Airport.

I stayed at the Hedges in Edinburgh. It has easy public bus service both across the park and about 2 blocks away on a main street. There are also good restaurants within a couple of blocks and a laundry within walking distance where you can have it done for you or DIY.

Glasgow has one of the best Hop On-Hop Off buses I've ever experienced. It hits all the major tour sites in town and really does come every 10-15 minutes. I don't think I ever waited more than 10 minutes last July.

Last August we stayed at the Kingsway Guest House (www.edinburgh-guesthouse.com) and really loved it. It was recommended by Rick Steves in one of his books and it was wonderful. The breakasts were delicious and they made great suggestions about restaurants, places to visit, etc. Have a fun time!

Google B+B Rothesay Pl Edinburgh. We stayed there last year and it was very good. You can take a tram from the airport to a stop within walking distance of the facility. That same tram will go almost to the main train station and I think (not sure) to a place to get the bus(es). If you decide to stay there we can give specific info about directions.
