We are arriving early to Edinburgh in September prior to the start of our Scotland trip with Rick. Looking for recommendations for a nice (not very expensive) place to stay while in Edinburgh. Then we are planning on taking the train up to Inverness to start our tour.
Before my Scotland tour I stayed at the Premier Inn York Place in Edinburgh. Nice location, not far from railway station & tram from airport has a stop right across from the hotel.
I am planning on staying at the same hotel Laurie Beth stayed at for my upcoming May trip. Premier Inn gets very good reviews on this forum and the prices are very reasonable. There is another Premier Inn that is close to the Royal Mile but it is more expensive.
We stayed at Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre Royal Mile hotel. It’s across the street from Waverley train station and a couple minutes walk to the Royal Mile.
We enjoyed the Market Street Hotel last October. Right across the street from the Waverly Train Station and just up some stairs to the Royal Mile.
But are there any older, cosy, authentic inns near the center that anyone recommends?
I stayed in the B+B Edinburgh on a recent visit and it was a cosy place with a good breakfast. I have also stayed in the Holiday Inn Express City Centre, which was also nice with a good breakfast.
