Lodging in Glasgow

My husband and I will be travelling to Scotland in June next year. We plan to take the train to Glasgow from Edinburgh and stay there for 2 nights. From Glasgow we plan to rent a car to tour the rest of Scotland. Thus we need recommendation of a place to stay in Glasgow where it is close to one of its train stations as well as easy access to a car rental company whose location is an easy driving out of the city.
Thank you for your input in advance!

There is a historical hotel attached to the train station, Grand Central Hotel.

Your train from Edinburgh will more likely arrive at Queen Street Station and there is a Premier Travel Inn around the corner at 141 West Nile Street ( New hotel 2014 ) . The main bus station is just around the corner on Killermont Street , and the airport bus will drop you in front of the terminal and car rental offices . From there , an easy drive over the Erskine Bridge and up into the Highlands . Could not be easier .

We stayed at that Premier Inn location last summer - it was very comfortable and well located. Nothing fancy or charming, but good value for money, comfortable beds and nice set up.
