Linlithgow Palace Closed

We are traveling to Scotland in early August and spending three days in Edinburgh before picking up a car at the Edinburgh Airport. We had planned on touring Linlithgow Palace but it is closed for repairs so we can only walk around the outside. Is it worth stopping to see it on the outside or should we just head to Fife and St. Andrews? Is it too much to go to Fife, St. Andrews and the Scone Palace in one day? We’ll be stopping in Pitlochry for the night.

Thank you in advance for your input!

Kind Regards,
Denise

If you have a multi site ticket for Linlithgow it might be if you want it to be. However it is possibly somewhere to cut if time is tight.

St Andrews and Scone are probably do able in a day, they are an hour ish apart by road, and although not brilliant the A92 is a dual carriageway. However you have to take into consideration any journey to them if starting from Edinburgh and finishing at Pitlochry.
