I sampled Lily's Cullen Skink in May of 2019 because of your recommendation on this forum. We were the only customers in the wee cafe at the time.
It was a very memorable experience and the first taste for me!
Thank you auchterless!
I loved it and recommend anyone travelling along the NE coast plan to stop for lunck!

Thanks, Mike! Good cullen skink is one of my favorite regional dishes from anywhere! (Others include mujadara, chicken paprikash, beef stroganoff and Wiener schnitzel.)

Oh, that's good news, Mike! I had such a good experience eating Cullen Skink soup at Lily's! It's such an iconic location and such good soup! It was so tasty and I loved the smoky flavor, which evidently comes from the smoked haddock. It also had potatoes, onions and milk in it. So thank you once again for the recommendation!

Just a quick additional comment: I've had cullen skink many times in Scotland (and something very close to it indeed in Ireland). Aside from a single poor experience with a thin, fish-starved example in Portree, they've all been really good. Even those I've had in golf course halfway houses have been universally worth eating. So those who aren't in Lily's neighborhood shouldn't wait to try this scrumptious soup.

Note to self: next time I'm in Inverness, need to drive to Cullen and visit Lily's.

Not been in Inverness for over 20 years so never tried Lily's Cullen Skink but I do make a pretty decent version myself. those of you that might like to try in Baxter's do a pretty decent canned version and may be available in some speciality shops in the US, here in Edinburgh i can get it in my local supermarket.
