Last day ideas - Dunkeld to Edinburgh

I'm working on the last details for our trip at the end of the week! I have left our last day somewhat open as I thought if we are tired of driving we may just head back to Edinburgh from Dunkeld and enjoy the city for a final day/night.

Some things I have considered:
- hiking:
The Hermitage
Kinclaven Bluebell Woods
Kinnoull Hill

Dundee - worth a stop?

St. Andrews - some members of my family are interested in going to see St. Andrews before heading back to Edinburgh

A full day would be fine. Hike in the morning, dinner in St. Andrew's before heading to Edinburgh? Later morning flight to London the next day.

As always, thank you for forum members for thoughts/suggestions!

St. Andrews is beautiful and has something for everyone-beaches, golf, castle and cathedral ruins, a church tower to climb (very narrow!), a botanical garden, and great food (try fish and chips at Tailend!).

As to your question "Dundee-worth a stop?"...YES! A pleasant waterfront area and an amazing selection of museums, I especially enjoyed Verdant Works. However, given your group's interests, I would go with St. Andrews.
