A min of four hours, five to be safe. I would book a noon ticket and plan on lunch in the area. Second, since you are at the airport why not fly to Edinburgh?
Thanks so much!
Yes you have a great point, I will look into that ...
would a 2 hour layover be ok for the next leg to Edinburgh?
Well it wouldn’t really be a layover since this would be on separate tickets, so no, two hours between flights wouldn’t be enough.
Ok thanks again!
British Airways has lots of choice so I'll give myself 4 hours to get the next leg to Edinburgh. :)
Appreciate your help!
Just to remind you that when you land at Heathrow, you will go through immigration and customs, need to re-check in any checked luggage, go through security and get to your gate. And if not flying BA into Heathrow you may have to change terminals as well. And, your arriving flight could be late.
That's why we say a minimum of four hours.
Ok thanks kindly! I won't have any checked bags so that'll make things a little easier. :))
If you buy a 'Plus' level fare from BA you can change your flight on the day for no charge up to one hour before scheduled flight time.
Oh that might come in very handy, thanks Marco!
Or buy an Anytime train ticket and just board the next train to Edinburgh when you get to King's Cross.
Another great suggestion, thanks kindly I'll look into that too!
There are trains to Edinburgh from King's Cross every 30 min, and with an anytime ticket you can take any train you like that day.
