Interested in hotel recommendations in Edinburgh which is walkable to major sites.
That's going to be a very long list... Edinburgh is a fairly compact city, so plenty of places are walkable. We've stayed at Fraser Suites in the old town and really liked it...
It would be helpful to know what your budget is. But I can tell you a couple of recommendations. One is the Hotel Ibis in Saint Andrews Square. It’s a very nice hotel in a wonderful location. It has a more residential feel to it and yet is close to all the main sites and some wonderful restaurants.
If you’re looking for something a bit more budget oriented, I would recommend the Premier Inn on York Place. This is a chain of hotels in the UK and they are consistently clean, comfortable and convenient. I love this location as it was in New Town, which is more of a residential area. But it was also very close to the train station and the Royal Mile and so on.
I stayed at the Hotel Ibis - Hunter Square. It was one block off the Royal Mile and easily walkable to just about everything.
Thank you both. We are planning a 40-45 day trip to Ireland, Scotland and England, so I am trying to keep accommodation costs manageable. That is tough in Edinburgh, so looking for around $300 per night. Many thanks
With your budget I'd got for the Premier Inn on York Place. Very walkable to most sites and also close to bus and tram links.
If that is USD then you are in Premier Inn territory. If other dollars then you will need to do the conversion for us.
Thanks everyone. I found an AirBnB.
Which b&b? We are just looking today.
