Hotel/Neighborhood in Glasgow

We wrap up our vacation to Scotland in June next year with a weekend in Glasgow. Arrive late in the day on Friday and leave for the airport Monday morning. From what I've researched so far we'll probably spend our weekend around Ashton Lane, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the Riverside Museum. Since we usually spend about 12 hours of a day away from our hotel we typically look at mid-range hotels in a decent neighborhood, walking distance to pubs and restaurants so it will be a short walk back to the hotel after a long day. Any recommendations for hotels and neighborhood that fits the above? *If mid-range doesn't work in Glasgow, a higher end hotel is workable as well.

During one of my visits to Glasgow, I stayed in the Westend. I would recommend the neighborhood overall. I stayed near the Botanic Gardens it was not a bad walk to the Hillhead Subway stop to get to the City Centre. I can't remember my B&B. It was not memorable. There is a Hilton if you want to go that direction. Google hotels Glasgow Botanic Gardens and you'll get some results to check out. This is the area near the Great Western Road. The University of Glasgow is nearby as is Kelvingrove. There was a lively nightlife scene nearby for music and food.
