Looking for recommendations for nice, upscale accommodations in Edinburgh walking distance to Old town. Doesn't have to be luxury but we like really nice places. Traveling May 2022. Thanks!

Very clean, nice, host had scotch waiting for us when we arrived. It was located on one end of the Royal Mile across from the famous Cadenheads Whiskey which was amazing!
This end of the Royal Mile is a little quiet. I would recommend the apartment but, for us, would prefer to be a few blocks closer the the Edinburgh Castle!

There is a hotel named B + B Edinburgh where we've stayed several times and we've always been pleased. It's within walking distance of the tram line (let me know if you need details) and we did not find the location to have any drawbacks at all. We were able to use the tram and shoe leather to get everywhere we wanted to go.
