Hogmanay cancelled and other restrictions

If you are in Scotland for the New Year, or the lead up to the end of the year, it was announced today by the First Minister of Scotland that the traditional Edinburgh Hogmanay events have all been cancelled and other restrictions, all effective from Boxing Day which is this Sunday.

Other restrictions include limiting all outdoor events to 500 people, all seated indoor events limited to 200 people, all standing indoor events limited to 100 people.

Goodness.

How I long to come back to Scotland and to England. But it is still going to be a while before I will be able to go to either one.

Hope you and your wife are staying safe, Nigel.

Colleague at work is a Greenock Morton fan.

"Did you hear that the First Minister has banned gatherings of over 500 people?'
'Yeah?'
'Where are we going to get the extra 495 fans from?'

You could always pop over to the border and enjoy NYE in England. The British Prime Minister isn't on a contant one-upmanship power trip unlike the First Ministers, Sturgeon and Drakeford.

Then there is Hamilton, the only team named after its chances of winning a trophy. Purely Academical.
