Hogmanay!

Hi everyone,
My husband, myself, and our 21 year old son will be in Edinburgh from the 27th of December until 3rd January. We plan to participate in some of the Hogmanay festivities - torchlight procession, fireworks, etc. - which all look like great fun! We will also take day trips to Glasgow (we have a cousin there), Stirling, and possibly Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Plus the big sights...Holyrood House, the Royal Mile, etc.
Anything else going on in Edinburgh during that time that might be fun? We love traditional Scottish music (big Dougie MacLean fans!), cultural events, and small venues to hear good music. Any good recommendations for interesting restaurants?
Thanks so much in advance for anything you are all willing to share!

How are you intending to get around?,trains don't run New Years day in Scotland and buses are limited ,the whole public transport system will be on a reduced service over that period.

Hi Anita! Just had to say we are big Dougie Maclean fans too! We enjoyed The Royal Mile for Haggis, Neeps and Tatties. For something more foodish, we ate at Aizle. I tried to book The Table, but was unable to get a reservation ( they only take 10 people). Have fun!

Thanks for the info so far!
Unclegus...we are staying in an Airbnb that is central enough to the Edinburgh city center so we will be able to walk everywhere within the city. It comes with parking so we will have a car to go see things outside of Edinburgh.
Thanks for the restaurant recommendations diveloonie! We will check them out.
