We will be visiting Scotland in the near future, can anyone recommend some historic pubs in these two cities? Pubs that have a history behind them or that have been in existence for an unusually long time. Thank you for the help.
Well, it's 20th Century History, but I liked Sandy Bells.
And I just discovered the Pub Guide in Undiscovered Scotland. I've used this site for years, but didn't realize it had an Edinburgh Pub Guide!
That aside, I was also going to recommend The Oxford Bar. It at least pushes back to the 19th Century.
I suggest that you wend your way through the Pub Guide. I think you'll enjoy it. I know I am! I think I'm heading to the Hebrides and the Halfway Bar next time I'm in Edinburgh!
