Hiking sticks?

Doing 13 days in Scotland tour and wondering if there is any part of this tour where hiking sticks might be of use or merely something additional to pack.

Are you referring to the Rick Steves Europe Best of Scotland in 13 Days Tour? If so, there is at least one day that involves "strenuous" walking, with "lots of hills, stairs and uneven terrain." Be sure that you are checking your hiking poles if they have pointed tips. If, OTOH, they have rubber tips, you should be able to carry them on.

I looked at the itinerary as I did not remember any particularly strenuous hiking type days that would require a hiking stick.

I see G3rry is probably referring to Day 6 which is Glencoe, Urquart Castle, a quick ride on Loch Ness and an orientation walk in Inverness. I think it will probably depend on your guide but that day is not memorable to me for being strenuous even though I did it before the current itinerary changes. It was also raining so perhaps if the weather is fine the guide leads a hike in Glencoe.

Yes, I am referring to the RS 13 Days tour. Looks like maybe yes, maybe no at this point. Will continue to follow for additional thoughts. Thanks in advance for any and all comments.

To me, hiking poles aren't about strenuous walks as much as general klutziness and uneven surfaces.
I pretty much take them along on all my trips that might involve walking in rural areas or ruins. The itinerary for the day is the decider.
But that's just my take on the subject.
