We plan to spend 10 days in Scotland. We want to attend a day of Scottish Games but not sure which one. Read a lot on the games at Braemar as this is the most famous of all. Question for those who have attended any Highland Games, where and which ones did you attend. We are building our trip of 10 days around the place we see the Highland Games.
Go to the welcome to Scotland website and look for the listing of all the Highland Games in Scotland. Braemar is probably best known because of its Royal connections. The Cowal Games in Dunoon is probably the largest in terms of participation, particularly of pipe bands.
This is the aforementioned list-
I went to the Highland Games at Gordon Castle in Fochabers in May, and had a wonderful time. I think that one is smaller than others but it was still fantastic; especially seeing and hearing the pipers, and watching the events. It's definitely an incredible experience!
A different calendar.

I don't know which is more accurate. We were planning to attend the Killin Games this August.

It's not really a battle of the calendars but this RHSA one seems to be more up to date in that it has a few dates which weren't announced when the other calendar was written!
Yes... the games are calendared which has a bearing on what you can attend.
We LOVED the games at Aboyne.
