Arriving in Edinburgh airport in the morning and need to get to Inverness by late afternoon. I see direct trains from downtown to Inverness, but what about the train station near the airport? (Gateway or something?) Can we walk to that station and then transfer. Have no idea what to buy and what connections to make. Thanks!

The tram from the airport (catch it right outside the entrance) has a stop at Edinburgh Gateway Station where you could transfer to the train. It is about a 10 minute ride if I remember correctly.

It looks like trains for Inverness leave about once an hour throughout the day.

Thank you. I think I can figure it out, Must need to make a transfer. Appreciate the help. Didn’t know if it was walkable or what. Thanks for the info on the tram.
