Help with Itinerary- 9 day trip in August

My husband and I are traveling to Scotland for 9 days in late July into August. We are renting a car. I've planned the majority of the trip, but am trying to decide where to stay on our 6th day. It's the day where we travel from Inverness to Oban. I'm wondering if adding on a day in Oban as a home base to tour Glencoe would be best or whether we should move up Oban to day 6 and head to Glasgow on day 7 and then add in Stirling on day 8. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. I am concerned with the length of the drive from Inverness to Oban. I'm not certain we will have enough time to explore.

Day 1- arrive Edinburg
Day 2- Edinburg
Day 3- Inverness
Day 4- Inverness- Tour the Highlands/Loch Ness
Day 5- Inverness- Planning Isle of Sky excursion
Day 6- Undecided
Day 7- Oban
Day 8- Glasgow
Day 9- Depart Edinburgh- Afternoon departure

I wouldn't do a daytrip to Skye from Inverness. Why not stay on Skye, and do 2 nights there?

You are short-changing Edinburgh (not Edinburg) with only one full day there. Add a night.

Edinburgh to Inverness is a 4 hour drive without stopping. I would suggest that you curtail the driving and stay for 2 nights in the Cairngorms, such as Grantown-on-Spey, Boat of Garten or Nethy Bridge, from which you could explore the highlands.

The Isle of Skye is too far from Inverness for a day trip, as it would take c 3 hours each way. At this late stage, you may struggle to find accommodation on Skye, as you will be visiting in school holidays.

From the Cairngorms, I would stay in Oban or Glencoe for 3 nights, which would mean a longish drive back to the airport on your last morning, but it maximises your holiday time whilst minimising the number of accommodation changes. Instead of a day trip to Skye, visit the beautiful, quiet (unlike Skye) Ardnamurchan peninsula.
