Hi all,
I have been on a few Rick Steves Tours. I know that this tour doesn’t include Edinburgh Castle but I am wondering if there is a pass or ticket that we have as part of the tour that includes admission. For example when I visited Paris and London with a tour we often had a ticket that allowed us to visit other museums etc on the tour on our own time.
Just wondering if I need to buy my ticket ahead of time or if there is a chance it is already “covered” on a pass. Does anyone who has been on this tour remember?

I'm doing the Scotland 8 day tour in August and I had the exact same question as you. I actually emailed RS Tours and got the following response "Your guide will purchase tickets for Edinburgh Castle as part of your tour, usually before lunch. You will be visiting on your own, not by guided tour, so you can leave anytime you like." Hopefully that helps you out.

We're doing the 13-day tour; would you suppose the same would apply for it as well, since we're also going to Edinburgh?

We're on the 8 Day tour starting Aug 2nd. I reserved tickets to the castle because the itinerary just said that we're free to tour the castle on our own in the afternoon. I wish they had been more clear about that...
