The Hallmuir Ukranian Prisoner of War Chapel and former Barracks (near Lockerbie) is reported to have been badly vandalised on 25 March.
This is the only other such Chapel in Scotland beside the Italian Chapel (Orkney), and is officially regarded to be equally important.
It normally has Open Days on the last Sunday of each month. As far as I am aware the April open day is happening (Easter Day Ukranian Mass did).
The perpetrator was arrested on site. As a court case is in progress it is hard to make further comment, but from what has been said it sounds like a very sad case of someone who was mentally disturbed.
