I would like to take a day trip from Edinburgh to see hairy coos. Any suggestions?
Years ago we saw some at Glamis Castle. Most recently we saw some in a field between Innerleithen and Peebles in the borders area.

I generally found them randomly when I was driving around. They really are adorable and very docile. I saw two of them on the Isle of Arran, and walked right up to them. You can also find them in the states—I live in Duluth, MN, and there are several farms in the area that have them. But of course, it's much more fun to see them in Scotland.
I would check the links in the post above. You could also do your own google search requesting info on "hairy coos near Edinburgh." 😊
I can see my wife or me in three weeks getting gored if we try to get a pic with a hairy coo but if we can walk right up to them ...
Well, I should add that there was a fence between us, but they showed absolutely no signs of aggression, as is typical of most cows. Always use common sense, of course.
Well, there is also Clangus, the mascot of Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey team
If ye're awa to see the hairy coos, mak sure to avoid the hairy coo droppings.
