Grandparents 2adults and 2 children ( 2 and under) 4 days

My husband and I are going to have 4 days with the grandchildren in Scotland. While our children are at a wedding we are babysitting. We have 4 days to sight see. We are then meeting back up with our children in Edinburgh. We are looking for recommendations on where to go and stay. I was thinking Glencoe and or Nairm area. Lodging can be a problem with 4 people. Thoughts and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I think that in order to give good advice we need to know a little more about the time of year when this is taking place and your interests. Glencoe and Nairn are very different areas. Glencoe is mountains and hiking. Nairn is a coastal town with a sandy beach near Inverness and Speyside (distilleries). Also where are you starting the trip from and will you have a car?

We are traveling in August and renting a car. We are spending a week in England (London, London area, and York) and then heading to Scotland. The kids are headed to Glasgow area for the wedding.

How about the island of Arran? Known as Scotland in miniature it has lovely scenery and beaches. A short ferry ride and not too far from Glasgow but feels a world away.

Or alternatively there is also Isle of Cumbrae, equally as easy to get to from Galsgow area. It lacks the dramatic mountains of Arran but is a lovely relaxed place to visit

I second Skyegirl's suggestion of Arran. There are little pocket beaches all around the island. Lots of tide pools for the kids to poke around and playgrounds. There's a manor house (Brodick Castle), distilleries, standing stones, cairns, waterfalls, castle ruins, and golf courses.
