I a an older woman, an experienced traveller but alone on an upcoming summer trip. Can anyone recommend good one-night accommodation as near as possible to the Glasgow Queen Street railway station? Thank you, Susan

Google Maps tells me that the Carlton George Hotel is adjacent to Queen Street Station--390 feet away, to be exact. I have not stayed there, but others in this forum have given it very positive reviews. Search the forum for "Carlton George" to read their comments.
I have stayed at the Apex Waterloo on Bath Street, which I definitely can recommend. It's a few blocks farther away.

I really like Voco Grand Central Glasgow, which is basically inside Glasgow Central (not Queen Street) but just a seven minute walk to Glasgow Queen Street.
