Hi all I am looking for golf suggestions for my husband and friend to play while visiting Edinburgh. I know the options are endless so hoping for some personal suggestions derived from experience. We will be staying on the Royal Mile, will not have a car so we will need to hire a drive or cab to and from course. Will need to rent clubs at courses. Both players comfortably a 12-14 handicap. Please give me your suggestions. We will be in Edinburgh September 10-13. Thanks

Thank you. I will take a look at these. The guys will be play the New Course at St Andrews and want to play at least one more time.

Still looking for more golf suggestions not to far from the Royal Mile, Castle end. Guys are looking for links style course, course would need to offer club hire. We will not have a car so we will have to hire a driver. Thank you

Look at Google maps.
Put the Royal Mile in the middle of the Edinburgh map.
Search “golf courses” in the upper left search bar.
You will see that all four that GT mentioned are the closest.
No need for hiring a car and a driver, just hop in a taxi.
There are a few more.
Just look at their websites to see what they offer.

Thirty minutes by train from Edinburgh then a 5-minute walk to the golf club.
