Glencoe Inn vs Ballachulish Hotel

My husband and I wanted to spend a night or two in Glencoe at the end of March to enjoy the scenery and do a walk or two. We are arriving by public transport (bus).

Which would be reasonable to get to from a bus stop yet provide access to walking trails: The Glencoe Inn or the Ballachulish Hotel?

Is there a better choice in that area to stay that is reasonable?

The Clachaig might be worth a look
A well famed hikers bar round the back ,Boots Bar.
March the weather could be doable or deepest winter and Glencoe walks tend to the vertical!
Fort William might be worth a consideration theres connections from there and Glen Nevis to Steall waterfall is a sure back up and low level.

The Glencoe Inn has a stop on the Glasgow to Fort William and Skye bus route outside the front door.

The Balachullish Hotel has a stop on the same routes 2 minutes walk round the corner; also a stop on the Oban to Fort William route outside the front door.

The Clachaig Inn has no nearby bus stop, and is a 3 mile or so walk from Glencoe.

So if coming from Glasgow or Fort William either will do, if from Oban then the Ballachulish.

For walking trails the Glencoe is the better. From Ballachulish you would be going back 5 minutes down the road to Glencoe on the Glasgow/Skye bus or the two hourly N44 local bus from Fort William to Kinlochleven.

In March it could still be wintry so have winter equipment in case, and ensure that the hotel knows your walking plans, in case

That's very helpful. Sounds like Glencoe would be a better choice as we are coming from Glasgow.

Yes, March is not my first choice (tying to another event), but it will be almost April so maybe not so bad...
