Need some advice on how much time to spend in Glen coe. We are staying in Fort William for two nights.

These 2 places are a half hour drive away from each other. I would pick one or the other, unless you have specific hikes you want to do in each place.

What do you want to do while in Glencoe? Some people just want to drive through and maybe visit the museum about the Glencoe massacre. Others want to do some of the extensive and challenging hikes (see the various options on the Walk Highlands website). If you want to do some serious hikes then maybe a couple of nights in Glencoe village or Ballachulish would put you nice and close for access to the various trails. But equally you could drive down there from Fort William.

We stayed in Glencoe village for 2 nights at The Glencoe Inn. Loved our stay here. We arrived from Skye, did some sightseeing along the way, so we arrived at our inn around 5PM. The next day we took the chairlift at the Glencoe Mountain Resort. Took our time driving down the Glen Etive Road to Loch Etive. The drive is stunningly gorgeous and the scenery will take your breath away. The road is 12 miles long, follows the Etive River, and ends at Loch Etive. There is the lush green valley, majestic mountains, the river, the loch and probably millions of rhododendrons. We were there in June. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
