I stayed at the Premier Inn in George Square the last time I was there. It was very convenient and affordable.

The Merchant City Inn hotel is nice and moderately priced, only a little bit more than the Premier Inn.

There are several others under the above search. Cheap accommodations. Worked for us. But, we travel really cheap when we can.

Just an aside. There are two wonderful tea rooms in Glasgow. Both are called Willow. We thoroughly enjoyed both at different times. They would be worth a visit, in my opinion.
