Glasgow Hop-On Hop-Off Bus

Anyone used for sightseeing this city? Thoughts?

If you are only in Glasgow for a short time , I definitely would do the bus. I was just there in July and took the tour. I researched ahead what stops I might like to explore further and then hopped off and on. It was well worth it.

Are most of the sites walkable or do you really need to take some sort of transportation to get to them? (Museums, etc.)

We used it and found it fit our needs. It covers quite a bit of ground (more then we could walk) and ran frequently enough so we never felt stranded. The weather wasn’t great the day we were there, so it was nice to be in out of the wind.

We had only a few short hours in Glasgow between trains. We had tea at the Willow Tea Rooms and then took this hop on hop off bus just to get an overview of the town and think about what we might like to see on a later date. I felt the bus gave a good orientation to Glasgow.

We used it because we only went to Glasgow on a rebound (couldn't get accommodation in Castlebay). It helped us get an overview and some ideas for sights to see.

We hopped off to visit the Transport Museum (see above), which we liked very much.

If you know exactly what you want to see and only want to use it for transportation, it is far too slow and far too expensive - but that goes for all HOHO busses.
