Gladstone's Land Tour Booking

We will be in Edinburgh for only one day in early July. We have the entire day for sightseeing and are concentrating on only the castle and the Royal Mile from the castle to St. Giles' Cathedral. Yes, I know we'll be missing a lot, but it's only one day and sometimes less is more. We'd like to tour Gladstone's Land. Entrance is by guided tour only, and the website lists the tour times for each day. It says tours may be booked in person or by calling their phone number. My question is, do we need to call ahead of time to book a tour? If so, how far ahead? If we stop there first thing in the morning, will we be able to book a tour for that day? We just aren't sure if this is one of those things that needs to be booked far in advance or if you can just walk up and get in on a tour. Thanks for your help!

I'd say invest in a phone call to ask them yourself. Tell them which day you are going to be there and ask their advice about how long in advance you should book.
