Getting to the Highland Folk Museum

My husband and I will be arriving in Newtonmore on Friday, May 4. We won't have a car, and we'll have our luggage with us. We don't really want to walk to the museum while carrying our luggage. Is it possible to hire a taxi or a local person to drive us out there?

Hi, spiritthing,

I'm assuming that you'll be arriving by train in to Newtonmore. Gerry's Taxis, out of Aviemore, has received good reviews. They seem to be willing to go far to pick people up. Their telephone number from the U.S. is 011 44 1479 812000. If you're calling from within Scotland, it would be 01479 812000.

How are you getting to your lodging after you visit the museum? Can you drop your luggage at your lodging, then go on to the museum? And how are you getting to your next destination?

Have a wonderful time in Scotland!

You could also email the museum and see what they suggest. They give this email. [email protected] Ask about transportation form the railway station.
