Getting from Inverness Train Station to the Airport ... Best options?

Hello -- we would greatly appreciate any guidance on getting from the rail station in Inverness to the airport (where we are picking up our car rental) -- is there a public transit option, and any idea on cost / time? Having a hard time sorting out ...

Back story: we had previously booked a car from Enterprise's Seafield location but now that location is showing as closed for the day we are to pick up the car (a ... holiday ?) Enterprise customer service says the car will still be available for pick up, via machine check in ... but it makes us a bit nervous especially as we only learned about the closure by chance. It was open when we booked and our reservation is still being "honored" but as no one will be working there it makes us a bit anxious so exploring shifting the rental to the airport but that looks to be farther away ... curious if anyone else has had this happen to them?

There is a bus (the #11/11A) runs from Inverness Bus Station to the Airport every 30 minutes (30 minute journey)- fare £6.50 each. The bus station is just behind the railway station. Inverness is a tiny airport- the bus drops you outside the front door, and the rental lots are literally two minutes walk away.

Or (if arriving by train) there is an hourly train to Inverness Airport Station (headed for Aberdeen or Elgin). The fare is £6.10 each. From there most people do the 6 or 7 minute walk on a marked path to the airport (the rental lots are before the terminal arriving that way), but the above buses also call there.

If you already intend to arrive by train, book your ticket to the Airport instead and the extra over cost will be less than the £6.10 stand alone fare.

Or book your train tickets to Inverness Airport Bus Stance (Station Code INB) from any station- the stand alone fare is £8 and includes the bus from station to terminal- so the bus costs you effectively £1.90)

Thank you so much for that extensive reply— it’s very much appreciated!

By chance, do you know where I can find the schedule for the train to the airport? We are arriving by train, but on the sleeper car which does not offer an option to continue to the airport so we would need to transit between them. I don’t suppose you know if you can purchase the tickets for the airport segment on the train or if it needs to be done prior to boarding. I think we will have a quite close connection.
