Getting from Glasgow international airport to the finniestob neighborhood

I am utterly confused. I've tried googling whether the 77 runs from the Glasgow airport to the Finnieston neighborhood. Some websites say yes it starts at the airport, goes to Buchanan station and then continues to Finnieston. Other sites say no, it only runs from the airport to Buchanan street station, but then when I Google how to get from Buchanan Street to Finnieston some sites tell me to take the 77.

If possible, I'd like to take just the one bus though it's slower than the 500 express- which would let me off a Buchanan Street where, possibly, I would end up on the 77 anyway.

Has anyone here actually taken this bus from the airport past Buchanan Street bus station?

Finnieston is the West side of Glasgow, the same as the airport so it makes little sense to go into Glasgow, then back out again.
Even if you did you wouldn't get off the express bus at Buchanan, but at Queen Street Station. You would then cross the street, walk a few yards in the other direction and take bus #2 back from the Tron Church to Finnieston.
The 2 does not serve Buchanan.

What you need to do is to plan the journey to your exact address either on First Bus Glasgow or Traveline Scotland, as there is subtlety here.
The 77 doesn't serve Finnieston exactly, but gets pretty close, so one of its stops and a short walk may do you.
Otherwise take the 77 to Patrick Bus Station, cross the street and get the 2 from Peel Street (opposite the Bus Station) to Finnieston.

As I say use one of the journey planners above.
