News in this morning-
The MV Isle of Lewis (Oban to Barra route) has been withdrawn from service for essential steelwork repairs, found to be needed during a routine survey. This work will take around 3 months.
Unfortunately this coincides with annual overhauls on the MV Finlaggan (Islay route) 20 April to 8 May, the MV Loch Frisa (Craignure, Mull route) 16 March to 7 April and the MV Hebrides (Skye to Harris/North Uist) 27 February to 13 April
The MV Isle of Islay arrived in Scotland on Sunday 22 February, and should enter service in early to mid March.
CalMac are reviewing fleet deployment options to keep a level of service running on all routes. However service reductions and re-timings may become necessary on all big ship routes. They will be in touch with people with existing bookings (and amending timetables as needed) in due course.
This may also end up affecting services to the Isle of Arran as well- which were due to restart to full timetables on 6 March.
