I am considering taking a private car tour with Finn Tours from Port Kennecraig to Tarbert, Should I use this company or just take a taxi to Tarbert and explore that small town. My travel partners will be golfing.

From your previous post of 7 May I actually thought you had booked the connecting #926 bus for the transfer.
You appear to mean Fyne Tours.
As you can bespoke a tour with them (from looking at their website) that might well be a very good idea to get to places you would struggle to get to otherwise. Say you went with them to Kilmartin Glen then Crinan followed by Lochgilphead then Ardrishaig (purely as an example of a possible itinerary) you would have a wait for a return taxi at each stop (especially at the end of the school day). The local bus services are limited, although workeable with to an extent.
While I love Tarbert there is a pretty finite limit to how much time you can spend exploring just the village, and you would miss quite a lot if you only did that.
So it would make life easier and be far more productive while the other members of the party are at Macrihanish Golf Course, Campbeltown.
You could bespoke the tour to go from Kennacraig to Campbeltown, explore the south of Kintyre (often neglected by foreign tourists) then take you to your hotel in Tarbert- as another example.
