We plan to visit Ft. George while visiting Inverness. We'll us the bus to Ardersier and take a taxi on to Ft. George. Will it be difficult to get a taxi back to Ardersier from St. George in the afternoon on a Friday in early May?
Just guessing as I haven't actually done it, taxi companies understand that once they've delivered you, there's a good chance you'll hire them again to return you. However, a search for Ardersier on this site
https://ubicabs.com/taxis/uk/scotland/highlands/ardersier
brings up just two companies, one based in Inverness and the other in Nairn.
Another post on TripAdvisor says that the bus stop in Ardersier is just 1 mile from Fort George. Depending on the weather, the walk might not be too unpleasant. Another comment on this same TripAdvisor thread recommends hitch-hiking on the mile walk (well, they didn't use that term, they said to ask for a lift if you see a vehicle going by).

Thanks for the comments. Since I first posted the question, I took a close look at a map and saw that it was, as you noted, just about a mile. I suspect taxis will be available at the end of the bus line so getting to Ft. George is likely not a problem. If we have to walk back to the bus a mile isn't so bad, unless its pouring down rain.

You could also invest in a phone call to the Fort George museum and ask their advice. In a small town like that, there may be unadvertised ways of getting a ride.
